In recipes outside South Asia, turmeric is sometimes used as an agent to impart a rich, custard-like yellow color. It is used in canned beverages, baked products, dairy products, ice cream, yogurt, yellow cakes, orange juice, biscuits, popcorn color, cereals, sauces, gelatins, etc. It is a significant ingredient in most commercial curry powders.

Description of Centrifugal Dryer ( Hydro Extractor)

Centrifugal dryer used to remove excess water from boiled turmeric It has a rotating basket in which the product which has to be dried is placed, after a spin for few minutes the product is dried, only the surface water is removed from this machine product is not fully dried.

Operating principle of centrifugal hydro extractor (centrifuges)

Boiled Turmeric poured into the drum of centrifuge hydro extractor from top, the inner stainless steel perforated round holes screen removable drum rotates at the high speed. Water will remove from Turmeric by centrifuge hydro extractor. Detach the drum and remove semi dry material from drum as per our standard supply, but now due to tilting type centrifugal hydro extractor no need to remove rotated drum just push the lever and tilt the drum thus dried material came out.(tilting up to 180° ) the centrifuge hydro extractor drum rotated by suitable electric motor

Description of Noodle Dryer Machines

Koyka group Turmeric dryer is fabricated out of rigid angle iron frame with double walled panels insulated with best quality compressed fiber glass and with a rigid door fitted with strong hinges and best chosen locking arrangement. A control panel is fixed in front of the oven to facilitate the operation easily. It has a large working space and is available, manufacturing from mild steel and in good finishing outside with automotive color and inside painted with heat resist paint to resist temperature A highly effective recirculation of air system is provided in the Turmeric dryer. The system is designed so that the materials at the top and the bottom dry simultaneously. Uniform air circulation, controlled temperature, sturdy construction and large working space are the valuables of the oven which is suitably designed to cover wide temperature range, loading and unloading is faster and simple. POLISHING MACHINE

Discription of polishing machine

Turmeric Polishing Machines are used to impart bright sheen to turmeric roots which removes any impurities on the surface and increases the salability by improving its display. Dried turmeric has a poor appereance and a rough dull outer surface with scales and root bit.the appereance is improved by smoothnening and polishing the outer surface by mechanical and manual rubbing.mannual polishing consist of rubbing the dried turmeric finger on a hard surface.the improved method is by using a power operated drum ( polishing machine)

Turmeric rhizomes can be mechanically washed as well as polished in a portable, electric power operated, rotary drum type turmeric washing and polishing machine.The machine when operated at optimum rotational speed for optimum time can wash 50 kg of turmeric rhizomes. At optimum performance parameters, i.e.75 rpm for 15-20 min. there is no bruising of turmeric rhizomes. The same machine can be used for polishing turmeric with some modification. To increase the friction, three detachabl perforated screens (0.91mm) of G.I. steels are attached along the inner periphery of the drum with abrasive surface on the inner side. The capacity of turmeric polishing machine is 50kg. The optimum performance parameters for polishing are 75 rpm for 15-20 min. at which the desirable olive yellow color is obtained and the surface becomes smooth. The microbiological quality of turmeric rhizomes is also improved by polishing because the surface microbial load is reduced to half.

IMPACT PULVERIZER FOR GRINDING

Discription of impact pulverizer

Impact Pulveriser / Pulverizer is a versatile grinding unit of heavy and rugged construction and built for continuous operation day after day. The unit is especially designed for the medium fine, and fine size reduction. The Pulverisers meet most capacity requirements and lend themselves to a wide degree of adjustments with fineness of the finished product ranging from about 60 mesh to bulk passing through 325 mesh, depending on a considerable extent to the particular material being handled. Unlike an ordinary hammer mill, it has no screens to break, wear out or clog in the crushing chamber. Impact Pulverizers combines grinding, classifying and conveying all in one single unit.

Operating Principle of Impact Pulveriser :

Impact Pulveriser consists of an encased rotor carrying swing hammers, whizzer classifier for fineness regulation, and Blower Fan mounted on a solid shaft. Raw material to be pulverised enters the crushing chamber through the hopper and automatic rotary feeder. The impact of the hammer on the feed material against the Liner plates reduces it into fine powder. The ground material is carried towards the whizzer classifier for classification and the over size particles are rejected by the classifier and returns to the crushing chamber for further grinding. The classified material is then conveyed into the cyclone for collection and bagging. A dust collector is provided in the system for ensuring dust Free operation and no loss of ground powder.

VIBRO SHIFTER

Discriptio of vibro shifter

Vibro separators are circular unitary gyratory screens used to separate mass composition of solids from solids, liquid from solid and for gradation of materials as per particle size, having very wide range applications.

This is accomplished by vibrating the screens in three different planes along the vertical axis by means of a specially designed vibratory motor having off centred weights at the top and bottom end of the motor shaft.

The top weight causes vibration in the horizontal plane which causes the material to move across the screen towards the periphery. The lower weight acts to tilt the machine which causes vibration in the vertical tangential axis.

The angle of lead of the lower weight with relation to the upper weight provides variable control of the screening pattern. Thus the material moves across the screens and also in the vertical and tangential planes enabling maximum screening. Neelam Industries’ Vibro sifters are available with a wide range of possible screen sizes (mesh) Option for multiple deck separation is also possible.

Process

The unit consist of Specially designed vibratory motor to run on 400 / 440V, suitable HP, 3 phase, 50 cycles electric supply ,with adjustable eccentric weights at the top and bottom of the motor shafts mounted vertically at the centre of the base plate of screening unit. Screening unit consists of SS 304 screen sandwiched between SS 304 hopper and bowl with the help of special clamp with gasket. Rugged Springs placed over the circular motor base amplify the vibration and at the same time restrict the vibration from being transferred to the powder.
